Alastair was able to validate that my approach was sound but he also helped me consider other aspects of my retirement planning that I had not considered and ultimately helped me refine the plan such that I was much more confident in the plan.

Alastair's approach was very sound and I did not consider how anything could have been done better

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for a financial coach?

I wanted to take control of the investments I have in a SIPP that is currently being looked after by a Financial Adviser, to save on the fees that I'm paying.

How has Alastair Ford helped you?

Alastair took the time to understand my financial needs and risk appetite and, during the course of our sessions, he gave me a clear understanding about how I could manage my portfolio, including giving me the confidence not to be daunted by the total of the funds I'd be managing.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

I've still to start the process, but will do so shortly, using the advice and software provided by Alastair, which I expect will prove beneficial.

What could they have done better?

Nothing that I can think of. Alastair's ability to deliver easily understood details of the key principles he wanted me to understand is a particular strength.

We were seeking support with planning our retirement.

Alastair helped us think through our plans, listened carefully to what was important to us, and provided helpful insights and prompts to keep us on track.

Nothing, the coaching was exactly what we needed.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for a financial coach?

I was aware that having lost my pension some years ago due to the demise of the pension company, plus other issues at around the same time, my current pension pot was insufficient for our needs. As I am already past 'pension age' but still working full time, it was important to us to have more clarity regarding how we can best prepare for the time when I am longer able to work.

How has Alastair Ford helped you?

Alastair's help was invaluable in helping us understand more clearly our current position, what this would mean for us if I were to retire, and was strategies we could put in place to try to at least minimise the 'damage' cause by having insifficient funds. Alistair was friendly, knowledgeable and professional and we were very grateful for his help.

Yes in that we know more clearly where we stand and how me might be able to optimise our resources and income

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for a financial coach?

I have been building up my knowledge on how to build wealth for some time and didn't want a financial plan as I felt it wasn't worth the money. I decided to get a coach to better understand my position and options, this was preferable to me as I prefer to make my own decisions based on my risk position.

How has Alastair Ford helped you?

Alastair firstly is really good at putting you at ease, my wife and I found his approach really helpful and after a Q&A type discussion which was a structured approach to our position and the choices and options we had for the future, we quickly understood our best way forward. Using the Voyant go planning took we quickly had a visual interpretation of our current and future position.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Most definitely, I was confident in my future choices, in fact it demonstrated that we could spend more and still maintain our future lifesyle. It also became clear to my wife that she was not ready for retirement which was really helpful.

What could they have done better?

There is nothing really to mention, I was very happy with the whole experience.
