What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for a financial coach?
Hatch is a free service available to me as an employee at Great Place to Work UK.
How has Shah Abbasi helped you?
Shah was superb from day 1. He quickly set up my long-term plan with short- and medium-term goals plotted in a very realistic way that took into account my personal circumstances at the time (e.g. planning a wedding). He also gave great advice about investing and pensions as I was keen to learn how to prepare for retirement early on. He also set up a couples plan which took into account my husband's income, expenses and savings alongside my own.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
Yes. I was already quite good at tracking my spending, but Shah helped me find ways to save and to make the most of my personal monthly budget.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for a financial coach?
My employer has been trialling Hatch with a small group to see if it is something to roll out across the business. I was one of the lucky ones to be picked.
How has Shah Abbasi helped you?
Shah is a very friendly, knowledgeable person who helped with a variety of things - life insurance, mortgages, wills, as well as day to day budgeting.
Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?
I was fairly open minded about what Shah would achieve, I had no preconceptions. What Shah achieved on one level was for me to save money, for example on my mortgage. On another level he got me thinking about my finances, where I was spending my money each month and ultimately becoming wiser with my money and again saving.
What could they have done better?
Tough to say as I haven't spoken to any financial advisers before Shah, so haven't really got anything to compare him to.
