Mortgage renewal and subsequently porting our mortgage to move house.

Doug gave us prompt advice on the best deal for us to renew our mortgage (he'd advised us on the initial mortgage five years ago). When we were looking to move house, Doug advised us on the best approach (e.g. port mortgage v get new mortgage etc.) and completed our mortgage application.

My partner and I are buying our first home and we wanted to use a credible mortgage advisor to help us find the best deal for our mortgage and insurance.

How has Douglas Honey helped you?

As first time buyers with busy jobs, we did not know the process for sourcing and applying for mortgages. Doug made the whole process very smooth from the first initial video call to the completion of our mortgage. Every query we had for Doug was responsed to immediately and on the same day. We were very grateful for his prompt responses as it helped us with any queries we had. We are purchasing a new build and the sales team commented on Doug being one of the best mortgage advisors they have ever dealt with.

Yes, we are extremely happy with the deal that Doug helped source for us. The whole process was made very easy and straightforward so we are delighted with Doug's help and we will not hesitate to refer him to friends and family.

Due to having a current fixed rate deal thought it would be the best option to go with Doug. We had used him in the past and had a good offer then, but unfortunately the sale never happened. Wanted to use him again and it also felt like the right thing to do given our circumstances.

Doug took all the stress out of the application. Found us the best deal for our current circumstances.

Doug has been brilliant! he has been consistent throughout the process of our house purchase sharing with us his knowledge of the industry and providing us with the best options for a mortgage and the insurance’s we needed also to support our purchase. Nothing is ever too much trouble and he is extremely honest making sure that the correct choices are made to the best of his ability. I would highly recommend Doug as it was easy to build a good rapport with him and he delivered well with his expertise and professionalism.

I have as specific set of circumstances being a seafarer and I have multiple properties. Doug has managed to tailor both the mortgages to my needs and has guided me all the way. I already plan to raise more mortgages through him in the near future.

On both occasions I had a mortgage arranged by Doug it was the desired outcome.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. Doug goes the extra mile even if certain avenues close from lenders or due to valuations, and he still finds the right product every time. He gives me confidence to proceed when I’m unsure.
