The process of buying a house hit many snags along the way for me, people were not lying when they said it would cause a lot of stress. On one occasion the whole thing fell through after seven months of slow progress and I didn't end up moving for a couple of years after that. So two years later I tried again and it took many more months / problems cropping up to eventually complete the deal. One stable aspect throughout everything over the past few years though was the fact that Paul was very calm, patient, understanding, informative, quick to reply and even helped me with little questions which was not really in his job spec. He went above and beyond without it ever appearing contrived and it was much appreciated. Considering the amount of help he actually gave me, I felt the fee was very modest in a world where I'm used to bleeding money incessantly!

Looking for equity release from a suitable provider, and was recommended the financial adviser from the accountants. This was on behalf of my mother as her POA, in order to continue paying for her 24/7 care fees at home.

Needed to pay off an existing interest only mortgage at the same time as increasing borrowing.

How has Paul Steggle helped you?

Paul listened carefully to our requirements and to our circumstances - which were quite complicated. He suggested alternatives and found a solution - giving us measured and sensible advice and information throughout. Nothing was too much trouble and he was wonderfully proactive in emailing and calling us to keep us updated.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Unfortunately not - but not due to anything Paul did or did not do. Paul found the right mortgage for us and we received a mortgage offer. Due to an internal error on the part of the mortgage company, the offer was withdrawn just a couple of weeks before completion. Paul supported us in our official complaint to the mortgage company (which after investigation has been upheld) and is continuing to support us in referring to the Ombudsman as we are not satisfied with the mortgage company’s resolution offer - all without charge! We just cannot recommend Paul highly enough.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. Paul is simply outstanding and leaves other financial and mortgage advisors we have dealt with in the past standing. We have already recommended Paul to another family member and would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone.

First time round was due to needing advice at buying our first property, following his advice, we had a 2 year fixed mortgage which then gave us the opportunity to move and upscale in moving into our forever home. Nothing was ever to much and he was always there for assisting us with advice on all matters in the process of buying and selling a property.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

The pandemic had effected what we were able to borrow but the overall offer seemed as competitive as we could get in the current climate and overall my fiancé and I were extremely pleased.

What could they have done better?

Honestly, nothing! Any question or advice on any matter, I knew I could pick up the phone and ask Paul for his advice. He was brilliant from start to finish and I trust his opinion and knowledge of the industry.
