What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I live in a Listed Property that requires some upkeep and renovations and the cost of living against only pension income required me to look at Equity Release. John provided very professional advice on what was the best solution for us. He also provided an assessment that due to a Deed of Covenant on our Title then some Lenders would not be in a position to offer.

How has John Harris helped you?

The existence of the Deed of Covenant provided some real challenges for out Legal Team such that our original solicitors walked away from us without notice. John found us another Legal Team that were happy to take on the challenge although they were not certain a solution would be available to us. A triage of John, our Legal Team and ourselves liaising with the Lender were able to bring this activity to a successful conclusion albeit over a period of 5 months

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Unfortunately due the period taken to resolved these issues our original offer expired and we did receive a new offer albeit with an increased interest rate. Even this new offer we considered was competitive in a market that we now understand is quite different to the main commercial mortgages market.

What could they have done better?

This has been very much a Learning Experience for us all where in more than one occasion we felt that we would never get the right outcome. We never deal in hindsight..
