Christine qualified in 1988 and has over 25 years of experience in family law. She is a specialist in child care law, advising and acting for parents in cases where their children have or may be removed from their care by Social Services. Christine also acts for children in those cases. As a member of The Solicitors Regulation Authority’s Children Panel since 2000, Christine is accredited to carry out such work and membership of this Panel reflects her expertise. Christine O’Brien has dealt with very complex care cases including those involving brain injury in children or ‘baby shaking’ as well as complex cases involving ‘fictitious illness’ in children. Christine has represented clients at the Court of Appeal and conducts a substantial amount of her own advocacy. Christine’s reputation is such that she has been highly regarded in the 2010 Edition of The Legal 500 (the client’s guide to the UK Legal Profession). Christine is passionate about her work and takes great satisfaction from helping clients through such a difficult time in their lives.
