Michael Sandys

I am a Partner at GWL LLP Solicitors bringing in-house experience at a telecoms company, a cotton trading company and also at Matalan where he was on secondment. I spent 9 years at two large Manchester law firms (Halliwells and then Cobbetts) and a further 10 years at two local Liverpool law firms before joining GWL. One of my specialisms is Intellectual Property (both contentious and transactional). I also act for “tech” and “spin out” companies in equity finance deals and in helping them with their contracts, commercialisation and IP protection. I have many years’ experience in dealing with all types of commercial contracts and transactions. I act for seller and buyer in a wide range of company acquisitions, most recently including a coach company, a well-known Wirral Hotel, a commercial fence company and sale of a software development company to a competitor. Clients I have acted for previously range from blue chips to smaller businesses and local SME’s. I am willing to offer fixed cost fees for client certainty with regards transactional work. I am currently Area Leader of Merseyside and Cheshire at FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) and Director at DaDa charity (disability and deaf arts).
