Mark provided extremely professional advice, explaining some quite complex matters very clearly and was extremely responsive at all times. Mark provided expert moral support and guidance through some difficult decisions, particularly in relation to custody of our children, pulling on his experience and knowledge of both the law and its application. Mark also provided excellent support in relation to the financial settlement, providing a strong view but also listening to my needs as a client and being flexible in his approach where required to meet those requirements. Mark was also very conscious of keeping my costs down and looking for any opportunity to help me save on legal fees, which built trust with me.

I contacted Mark through a personal recommendation to provide advice and act for me in my divorce proceedings.

How has Mark Vandaele helped you?

Mark gave me very specific and targeted advice regarding my situation, and he also gave me the confidence to do many of the steps on my own thus saving me fees. However, he was always responsive to my requests and would take on as much or as little work as necessary. Going through the divorce process is a stressful process, but the appointment of Mark and his team meant that I could relax because I had excellent legal advice at my fingertips, and with no pressure coming from Mark in terms of pushing for a more complex than necessary separation. In the end, the whole process was made to be as simple as possible, and done for a very low overall fee.

When your children are involved, sometimes emotions can cloud what should be important, Mark and Rachel were very good at maintaining the importance of the case, which was my son.

Yes. Achieving the alcohol testing order from the courts was a key part towards the conclusion of the case. This ultimately confirmed some of the reasons to why we approached the legal system in the first place, and allowed us to put measures in place for the future.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for a legal adviser?

Divorce where ex wife from long marriage wanted to take 97% of equity, plus 50% of pension, with various trust issues that needed resolving.

How has Mark Vandaele helped you?

Supported me through court process to FDR, through a myriad of claims for money, from an extremely difficult ex wife who was completely unreasonable in terms of her expectations. Mark managed that really difficult balance of being really supportive, very clear communication in terms of setting my expectations, and still being extremely effective with his knowledge and communication to the other solicitors. Along the way he also gave me some rally smart advice about minimising my feels with him, which must be incredibly rare in this field. In short, outstanding all round.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes! We dominated the FDR guidance where the judge sided with everything (bar 1 matter which we expected as it was our negotiator) Mark and the barrister put forward. 50% on everything, exactly as it should have been.

What could they have done better?

This is an unusual comment from me, as I do believe in feedback, but there wasn't anything I would have liked to have seen different. Even my ex wife told me recently that her solicitor was rubbish compared to mine.

I initially contacted Mark in December 2018 as I needed financial advice on my divorce. Mark was very open, honest and realistic about my options and also my chances for success. Mark drafted the Consent Order and covered points within the order which I initially thought would not be required. Had it not been for the stalling from the other side the whole matter would have been wrapped up very quickly. Divorce granted in January 2020.

Mark ensured that my wishes and requirements were met.

What could they have done better?

Bills will always be a sore point when sorting out matters of this nature. Having an online facility to monitor spend more frequently than the month end and paying bills online would be advantageous. Seemed to be lots of small charges for information that I'm sure his team would already have had. Mark does not come cheap but you pay for quality and he ensured I got the result I wanted.

I needed a Solicitor to handle my Divorce. I asked for a recommendation and Mark came highly recommended.

I initially contacted Mark in 2018 as I needed financial advise on my divorce. Mark was very open, honest and realistic about my options and also my chances for success. Mark drafted the Consent Order and covered points within the order which I initially thought would not be required. If it had not been for the fine detail that Mark had gone into, I could potentially have been waiting for another hearing and further delays. My ex has not played ball from day one and Marks advise has been spot on every time. It’s taken until 2020 and an Enforcement Order and a judge agreeing to sign documentation to move things forward and I am hopeful that the financial matters will be put to bed this year. I’m addition, Mark offered legal advise on the children. Whilst this isn’t an issue for the time being, I won’t hesitate to seek Marks services again.

As mentioned above, Mark was meticulous in his attention to detail to cover all eventualities. Whilst costly, Mark is totally worth the advise and service.

How has Mark Vandaele helped you?

From our very first meeting, I felt confident in Marks guidance in the best way forward having both mine and my daughter’s best interest. He made the whole process of my divorce the easiest it could be. Mark was always approachable and would answer any question I had - nothing was ever too much. All the way through he was clear with advice and told me the stages that the matters would or could go through so I knew exactly what was happening and what could occur. Mark also advised me what I needed to do when I needed to do it, acting very efficient and prepared. As a divorce can be an extremely stressful time, his understanding of what I was going through was reassuring and his advice personal to my situation. Mark's advice with regard to my divorce was excellent our appointments we had were efficient and I always felt he had my best interest at heart.

Also twice I was informed of not paying a bill when I had done so. How has Mark Vandaele helped you?

The value for money rating is related to the current position and I would wait until all decisions have been taken and the final outcomes are known to assess this particular criteria. To date the service received has been prompt efficient and clear. I have been made aware of and understood the current situation on a regular basis. Mr Vandaele has always checked that I understand the legal position and what options are available to me with his considered view on the possible outcomes. Any difficulties that have been experienced have been due to the social workers reports to the court. Mr Vandaele has always discussed the social work reports and informed me of his view of how helpful/unhelpful the report was considering the current progress.

What could they have done better?

I am not aware of anything that could have been done better.

I have a complicated disputed with my ex husband. He is being very evasive about business transactions and fairness with the businesses we own. A further complication is that I suffered a serious stroke and therefore find I can be very slow understanding issues and easily confused. Mr Vandaele. Is very astute and competent. He is happy to explain Issues several times and follows up a day or so after in order to established that I continue to understand issues or have any further questions. This I regard is above and beyond . I would have all confidence in recommending Mr Vandaele for his knowledge, experience and skills.

Mark Vandaele has helped see me through a most difficult and acrimonious divorce which has met with numerous obstacles along the way. I knew my own particular proceedings would be contentious as it involved a police pension. Mark's professionalism is unquestionable. He is excellent at what he does. He has a no-nonsense approach and is very straight talking. You know where you stand. He didn't always tell me what I wanted to hear, but after mopping up the tears, I would think it through, realise he was right, and we would move on. Mark is very supportive and reassuring at all times. He is likeable and approachable. I would not hesitate to recommend Mark to others who are in need of representation.

I found that Mr. Vandaele handled my cases extremely well. He guided me through everything very clearly and professionally, always giving the best advice. If I needed to speak to him urgently and he was out of the office, he would always take the time to call me back. I often needed to call him with questions, and he was always happy to help, nothing seemed to much trouble. He was also very efficient in replying to any emails, and taking time to see me if I needed to see him urgently about a matter. I strongly feel that Mr. Vandaele was very experienced in the field which gave me the best possible outcome. I would deffinately recommend him in the future.

Divorce is a very stressful and upsetting time for all and I found Mark to be very helpful and co-operative throughout.
