What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

It is now some 30 years since I recognised the need to have long-term investments in equities and was recommended to the company that Rhys now works for, I have had two previous IFAs (now retired) from within the same organisation.

It was Rhys who persuaded us (my wife and I) that after receiving an inheritance from my parents' estate we needed to make that money work much harder than it would in a standard deposit account with out bank. Rhys was able to advise on what were practical amounts, how to move the money in a tax efficient way, and organise a large withdrawal when we needed it to help a daughter onto the property ladder.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

In so far as we have seen decent returns on the invested sums, felt confidence in our financial dealings and reassured that we were as well-protected against future events as we could be in this somewhat uncertain world, yes.

What could they have done better?

It is hard to see how anyone could realistically have been expected to foresee the actions of Donald Trump that have so dramatically affected the performance of equity and other investments worldwide.

I needed advise on the best way forward with my pensions.

I felt that I didn’t have enough knowledge about my pensions as I had several pensions that had been frozen over the years. We decided to transfer all out frozen pensions from past employment into one which is now managed by Rhys and we are very happy with updates, reviews, advice etc which we get from Rhys.

Yes, obviously I am due to retire in 7 years to me and pensions may increase/decrease during that time but we are quite confident of retirement plans thanks to Rhys.
