Leaving SJP when it became clear that I had received incorrect advice over a number of years, I needed to find an adviser that I could build a long term relationship with and rebuild trust.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was self administering my investments, but was asking my partner for advice once a year when reviewing my investments as I didn't know what I was doing. I felt this was unfair to him, as I didn't want him to feel responsible for any advice that went badly wrong.

Matthew appears to work very hard at understanding my personal situation and family circumstances. He patiently explains things I don't understand, and comes back to me with answers if needed.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Within the circumstances of the 'market' over the last few years I hope that my investments have done as well as could be expected, but of course this is hard to know, as I have not been following the fortunes of my old investments.
