I needed to remortgage my house to remove my ex partner and borrow an extra amount.

How has Paul Williams helped you since your last review?

We were looking to re mortgage, we went to see Paul and he went through all our options and answered any concerns we had. Paul went through all the different types of mortgages ( didn’t realise there were so many) and the benefits of them all. We would recommend commodore finance as they are friendly and efficient, we wouldn’t trust anyone else with our finances

Paul made the process of a new mortgage very smooth and straight forward. He Answered all my queries, listened to my requirements and provided a suitable product . They were in contact throughout the whole time by email and phone .Each member of the team who I met was very helpful.

Paul has been super supportive from the beginning. I am a first time buyer and Paul has explained everything in a way that has been easy for me to understand. Paul and team went through all my relevant paperwork, provided me with an up to date summary of what financial cover I may need in relation to my / my family's future. The information was clear and succinct, and he was happy to talk me through any queries I had. Being a self employed person running a business, it is not always clear what cover is available & what is best for oneself - However, the information provided appears to suit the needs of myself and our household. Paul was absolutely excellent and no wonder his whole team are lovely too. I was very impressed with his knowledge and he was really approachable and easy to talk to, which is important because not everyone is used to talking to a Financial Advisor and it can be daunting. What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I needed advise as I feel I was badly advised when re Newington my mortgage 2 years ago. My sister had recently got a mortgage through Pail, she said he was though and really helpful.

How has Paul Williams helped you?

I have a mortgage in place for the next 2 years, Paul looked for the best deal and gave me various options to keep the monthly repayment magagable as I have the mortgage in my sole name. Paul gave me pros and cons of each option. Both Paul and his team provided an invaluable service. Any queries I had were dealt with , fully explained and very professional. I was able to pop in to the office when I needed help with printing forms. Nothing was too much trouble. Any time I contacted them they provided a same day solution.

I have a mortgage for 2 years at the best rate available to me and affordable.

What could they have done better?

Paul and his team have been amazing, working really hard to help us get the mortgage we need to suit our circumstances. Always providing us with updates and being very understanding. We really appreciate how hard they worked in the time scale we had. They also worked extra hard when the first mortgage in principle didn't go through they managed to find another one pretty much straight away. Paul also provided us with lots of advice for insurance and protection and explained everything very throughly, the team were very accommodating with my boyfriend being deployed and we couldn’t of asked for a better company! Thank you

I hadn’t used Commodore previously but contacted Paul recently for some independent mortgage advice. The overall experience was very positive with good communications and a helpful meeting. This was followed up within a couple of days by high quality quotes/documentation. In particular, I found Paul to be friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Although I had not used Commodore before, I only did so after some research to satisfy myself that they were a reputable firm. On the basis of my experience I would be pleased to use Paul again and comfortable to recommend to a friend.

Paul has been excellent in his advice, and guided us expertly throughout the process along with his wife and colleague, Cathie. Throughout a tricky process involving valuations troubles, Paul and the team have been wonderful and hard working throughout. They truly make you feel as though you are their only client.

Yes!

What could they have done better?

Sometimes with their busy schedule, it was difficult to get to the case lead on the phone. However, this was always under totally reasonable circumstances and was never a real problem. All of the team were helpful in their advice and passing on messages if ever it was difficult to get through!

Since my last review, my circumstances changed unexpectedly. At my last review, I had no intention of moving house or making any change to my existing mortgage and existing plans. Sadly, my father passed away which meant I needed further financial advice on potentially purchasing the family home, re-mortgaging, and/or the possibility of renting out my existing property. Paul went through each topic very thoroughly, explaining them in an "easy to understand" manner and went through the advantages/disadvantages of each option, helping me to make my decision. The service was once again excellent and tailored to my specific needs.
