I was initially looking for Financial advise around my pension and the pros and cons of an initial drawdown pre retirement.

He offered some great initial advice on my pension, including a recommendation on moving to a different fund within the existing plan to reduce the risk around market volatility whilst we worked through the longer term plan, as well as offering advice on how we managed our day to day finances which was put into great effect. Our portfolio was put together from various streams of income. It was important for us to have the right advice regarding the pension side of things. In fact Justin gave us some advice to consolidate the pension with another provider which in fact secured our pension fund just before the Ukraine war / market chaos.

Of course anybody who has retired in the last two years is probably not able to say that their investments are yielding what they might have hoped for. However we have a balanced portfolio which limits the impact in these difficult times and we have Justin to thank for the very good financial advice. We realise that we are invested for the long term and I’m sure when the markets return we will be well placed with the funds we have chosen.

I planned to leave (very) long term employer in 2021, with a view to (early) retirement. So I needed advice on the financial implications and how that fits into pension planning in the UK, where a lot depends on financial markets and on an understanding of your personal options.

He helped to confirm and enhance my knowledge of Defined Contribution / (a future) Defined Benefit pension scheme and their impacts on my individual circumstances. He assisted in the transfer of my pension fund from the supplier of my former employer, and the pitfalls which can ensue. He has always been very clear on fees involved - either for his company or for other involved parties - and the general risks involved in the financial world - eg investment can go down as well as up!

Having recently retired I needed advice on the consolidation of my pensions, as I had already decided that taking an annuity was not an option for me I also required advice on where best to invest the available funds.

How has Justin Wade helped you?

I'd had preliminary meetings with a few IFAs before meeting with Justin, so when my wife and I met him we were immediately put at ease by his relaxed and friendly manner. His presentation was informative and presented in a way that we could both understand (my wife was paticularly impressed with the PowerPoint presentation), though grasping some of the fund concepts proved challenging at first, however, Justin sought to present the facts in a manner that was more easily understood rather than wrapping them up in finacial jargon. A financial plan was provided for us to peruse and agree on even before we had agreed to take on Justin as our financial advisor, which showed a level of commitment not previously seen.

It's far too early to say (only invested for six months) and the current political (Brexit) situation does not help together with the usual Stock Market ups and downs. These were not short term investments so I'm hoping that once everything settles down that a clearer picture will emerge.

We had a very bad experience with a previous Financial Adviser which lead us to search for someone who had received extremely good reviews.

How has Justin Wade helped you?

We were a little sceptical about meeting with another Financial Adviser, due to past experiences, but Justin alleviated all our fear and apprehension at our first meeting. It was extremely clear from the offset that Justin's main objective was to ensure that he understood exactly what we expected from our investments both now and in the future. He explained everything in easy terms which made it a lot easier for us to understand. It is also important to say that Justin took the time to get to know us both and to put us at ease.

Justin has undertaken a lot of work for us, a lot of which was at his own expense. We have received cash flow projections on our pending early retirement which we have discussed in length with him on more than one occasion. He is always happy to come round and discuss things with us and we look forward to seeing him. In this day and age it is hard to find someone who is passionate about what they do and how they do it. We are extremely grateful for all Justin's help and advice. As for the charges, this is what we expected to pay and are totally happy with. At the point of retiring I have several small pensions which I wanted to consolidate into one pot. I also had some 'safe' saving 's pots which I also wanted consolidating so that we may possibly earn more interest without too much risk.

My wife and I had not utilised the services of a Financial Adviser for over 3 years, for various reasons, and felt that following Brexit and the drop in interest rates we needed a complete review of our finances by a qualified expert.

I manage my mums estate as her LPA as she is now living in care and in addition I am trustee of the grandchildren’s trust fund that she set up. Both have considerable funds which I require advise with to ensure long term costs and goals can be achieved.
