What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My husband was looking to retire early, but we didn't really know if we had the financial plans in place to allow him to do so. Andrew was recommended to him by a work colleague and he helped us understand the position. Andrew pulled together an outline financial plan for us that gave my husband the confidence to retie at 57 and its fair to say that neither of us have looked back.

Andrew and his team pulled a complete financial plan together for us which outlined the likely levels of income we would have to live on for the rest of our lives. He is managing those investments for us and helping us to take our required levels of income in a very tax efficient way. Then way he explains this complicated 'stuff' to us is second to none, which in turn gives us every confidence that he has our interests at heart.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We certainly have. Our financial plan is more than delivering the potential income that was outlined and as a result we have upped the level and style of holidays we are now enjoying !

What could they have done better?

They have been amazing and I couldn't have asked for anymore. We were both very nervous about my husband taking this big step but Andrew and his team have held our hands all the way through it and we couldn't be happier.

I was looking to see if it would be possible for me to retire early by taking the cash option on my pension an investing that to provide an income. Financial acumen is not something I possess, so I was looking for advice and Andrew was recommended to me by a work colleague. Andrew walked me through these life changing options/possibilities in a very clear and articulate way and through his advice/planning it gave me the confidence and opportunity to retire at the age of 57, and I don't regret it one bit !

Andrew and his team put together a financial plan for us and they are now helping us enact and adapt that plan. I have come across financial planners in the past that almost ridiculed my lack of financial understanding, but Andrew and his team have given me nothing other than 100% confidence that they have our best interests at heart. I couldn't recommend him enough...and have in fact already recommended him to lots of my friends and family. !

My expectations have been massively exceeded. We feel like we now have a very robust financial plan that looks like it will more than deliver for our requirements, so much so, that inheritance tax is now the issue that Andrew and the team are helping us plan for.

What could they have done better?

Nothing. Seriously, nothing.

Financial planning had not been our strong point .

We retired to the UK a couple of years ago after many years overseas, and were looking for a financial expert to help us consolidate our savings and pensions, and give us professional investment advice so that we could look forward to our retirement with confidence.

Our finances were disorganised, in ad hoc savings accounts and weren’t benefiting us at all. We were about to enter retirement, with lots of hopes for the future, and Andrew was recommended as someone with a professional and approachable manner, who could help us with a plan to get the best out of our finances.

We wished we had known about Andrew and Berry and Oak many years earlier, even as far back as school days !! and not been daunted by the prospect of accessing financial services.
