I felt Andrew did not initially honor an agreement with my previous Depledge financial advisor to help me understand the financial plan provided. After multiple emails and questions I was able to get an export of the data used which gave me the clarity I required.It was helpful to finally get this information, but it could have been a much smoother process.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

No

What could they have done better?

Following the departure of the financial advisor I had originally engaged with Andrew took over on an interim basis. The majority of my interactions with the initial advisor were via email which suited my work and home circumstances. Andrew was very keen to have a 'face to face' meeting to discuss some of my concerns around the £1500 financial review. Having previously explained my disabled child and a busy work schedule made face to face or virtual meetings difficult to arrange I suggested email would be preferable. To my surprise Andrew cancelled our agreement stating "I am not comfortable in acting for a client that I have not met and does not have time to meet." Leaving me with an AJ Bell Investcentre pension that had to be transferred out after only a few months. Andrew could have been more understanding of my personal circumstances and given their mission statement is to "be synonymous with trust, integrity and sound judgement." I was very disappointed this was the reason given for ending our agreement.

The advisor I had sold his business and the firm who took over made absolutely no attempt to contact me to continue the relationship.

The financial adviser that I was using sold his business and there was no personal service from the purchaser.

By organising the transfer of one of my pension plans which was under performing to a better performing and less expensive pension provider and by advising to stop drawing on one of my pension plans when I didnt need the money and avoided paying tax at my highest rate.

Consolidation of various pension pots and greater flexibility of accessing pension assets in the coming years.

How has Andrew Day helped you?

Very clear advise on consolidation and opportunities for a more flexible approach. Understood my investment needs very well and offered a bespoke solution being half in a discretionary managed portfolio and half under my direction, with an environmental tilt. Very clear communication and back up support regarding various forms.

Yes !

What could they have done better?

ESG and approach to climate change within savings and pensions is an increasingly important consideration for many individuals. It's no longer just a view of personal values or ethics but potentially a considerable driver of future investment outcomes. I feel that the IFA networks are making moves in this area but I also suspect we'll see more rapid change in the coming years.
