What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was planning to retire before my state pension age , and wanted to have professional advice on my options.

How has Georgina Wright helped you?

Georgina initially looked at my existing pensions, and then gave me options that I could take. Based on this advice, I felt a lot more confident about how I would fund my retirement. She was able to show when taking retirement at different ages, what effect this would have on my pensions savings, so this enabled me to make an informed decision of when I could take early retirement. ,

Very happy with the arrangements that Georgina has set up for me, that will see me through my retirement.

I used Georgina when she was with a larger organization and stayed with her when she left, for two reasons mainly, continuety of service and her successful and proffessional approach to my requirements.

Georgina took us through all the options, explaining everything clearly and concisely as we went along. She then produced a thorough report confirming the options. Unfortunately, due to Covid and a change in the financial market, we then had to review everything and Georgina was there to advise and help us come to an alternative decision; Georgina is a very sound adviser and with her help, has given us the confidence to go ahead with investments we wouldn't have necessarily considered.

Yes - we have managed to achieve what we were looking for.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

In the first instance it was to help my Mum who was P.O.A for my Aunt who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. My mum wanted help to sort out her sisters finances to make sure everything was right before she took over as Power of Attorney.

How has Georgina Wright helped you?

When we had the first meeting regarding my Aunt I mentioned that I had transferred my pension which had been frozen to QROPS which was being handled overseas I asked if she could take on being my Advisor as I felt better with someone who was here in England. She agreed that she could help and took me on as a client. Once she had all my paperwork etc Georgina had read through everything and told me she felt that my pension advice had been Mis-sold to me and that I should make a complaint against the company and could be entitled to compensation.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes eventually after nearly three years I got my compensation. It took this long because the company didn’t feel they had Mis-sold it. Georgina then advised me to go to the ombudsman which I did. Eventually the ombudsman agreed that it had been Mis-sold but unfortunately by this time the company had gone into liquidation. The ombudsman suggested I should take the case to the FSCS. I again went to Georgina for advice she agreed that would be the best way to go. I got my compensation. If it hadn’t been for Georgina in the first place being thorough and picking up the possibility of a Mis-sold pension advice I wouldn’t have known and could have lost a lot of money.

What could they have done better?

Georgina did all she could and was so supportive throughout the whole stressful process. It was good to know she was just a telephone call away if I needed help.

Georgina reviewed the financial situation of me and my wife and provided us with a detailed investment plan.

We are about 18 months into the investment plan so it is too soon to tell how successful some of the investments will be. Initially it was following a move overseas and then to manage my financial affairs in retirement.

We want invest UK capital into an investment that was beneficial for both UK and French taxation.

How has Georgina Wright helped you?

She created a portfolio showing all our current investments, capital, properties etc. and gave us advice on how to proceed, setting up an package in a mutual country so that the money can be accessed in both pounds and euros. She now keeps and overall eye on those packages and advises us accordingly.

We are happy with the outcome, having invested in relatively safe packages and already received the benefits of that investment.
