James guided us from the very beginning when we were wondering if we could buy a home , reassuring us that he could help us to find a mortgage despite some issues with past addresses - when another broker had advised us to spend a number of years building our credit before starting our search. James helped us to find a lender at a good rate and was incredibly quick and responsive and removed the stress from the mortgage process, working seamlessly with other stakeholders. This included turning around getting revised offers at the last minute. He also made himself available to speak outside of office hours, for which I was really grateful and also answered our many questions. Finally, he helped us to secure the best life and health insurance for us, which fit into the other protections that we have.

We purchased our first property, so that's why we needed James help.

How has James Coghlan helped you?

We let him know out all the informations about the property and what we need for the purchase, and he sorted out everything for us. We just had to check, make sure everithing is good for us and sign some papers.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

Our previous mortgage advisor did not look at our life cover for our mortgage when we remortgaged and changed the amount and term of the mortgage, which meant we would not have full cover.

How has James Coghlan helped you?

James looked at our options, and searched for the best policy for us, with the knowledge that I have a medical condition which potentially affects life policies. He had a wealth of knowledge of which companies would be best for us, and approached them for quotes. Also due to mine and my husbands working hours, James completely fitted in around us with telephone appointments out of hours and allowing us to email responses when unavailable for calls.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

We have taken a policy out, only slightly more expensive, but covers us for the full term, with an additional sum too for expenses should one of us pass away. We were extremely happy with this policy, especially as no additional medicals are needed for myself.

What could they have done better?

He was able to find us a good lender who was open to take into our application by husbands self employed salary alongside mine.

I wish the service charge was lower considering that they are also going to be paid a commission from the mortgage lender.

How has James Coghlan helped you?

James set up a call to go through my circumstances for remortgage which included having the option to let the property as I am working away. Having worked with James before it was a no brainer to get his advice again.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

James sorted out a great deal really quickly and despite some ‘free solicitors’ provided by TSB (Integrar) the process with James was easy and clear. Next time I think we agreed we’d take a small hit and use someone James recommends!

What could they have done better?

Nothing really, I feel lucky to have got in on a good rate before the markets changed and most of that is thanks to James being prompt with his advice and working hard to get deals when the markets look uncertain.
