Please provide a brief comment about your experience with Alistair

Thanks to Alistair for his common sense conversation. Really appreciate his time and advice. He got the issue straight away and though he didn’t have the answer to hand as it was likely a question for an accountant rather than a financial advisor, he knew where to go get more advice.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

I was thinking about Equity Release and initially asked for advice from my local CAB who then gave me details of how to find a reputable financial adviser and that is how I found Alistair Norton.

How has Alistair Norton helped you?

Right from the start Alistair guided me through the steps to take out a lifetime mortgage. He was very patient and did not hassle me to make up my mind as to whether this was what I wanted to do. When I did decide to carry on he was there helping me through video calls and always keeping me up to date with emails. He didn't go on to the next step until he knew that I had understood all that he was telling me.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Yes, I now have a lifetime mortgage and have been able to make improvements to my house.

What could they have done better?

There is nothing that could have been done better. The only hiccup I had was on Completion day when the solicitors had given me wrong information about the occupiers waiver and it took another couple of weeks to complete.

Alistair came across as having a thorough understanding of all of the financial areas I was interested in, principally pension related. Even though he only deals with 2 providers, he did provide a good justification for this, which means I will still consider him as a potential financial adviser after I've spoken with one or two others.

What were the circumstances that caused you to initially look for an adviser?

My son and family were desperate to get away from their flat as they were surrounded by trouble and danger.I needed help in getting finance from my property Alistair and his colleagues were just perfect, explained everything and in a way that was easy to understand and convey to my son .

How has Alistair Norton helped you?

Nothing was too much trouble. I was always on the phone to him and he would always reply as soon as he could. If it was going to take a while then he would leave me a short message saying he would be in contact and not to worry.

Have you seen the outcome you were hoping for?

Haven't seen family so excited in years, they feel they are going to be safe in their new home , the children are really excited and happy. So much stress has been relieved .

What could they have done better?

I wouldn't know !

Easier seeing someone rather than doing it online
